Why I Could not Ignore the Gap Between Nigerian Teachers and Families Abroad

Every meaningful project begins with a question. For me, that question was simple:
Why is it so difficult for Nigerian teachers to reach families abroad who are actively looking for quality education?

Nigeria is home to thousands of passionate and highly skilled teachers. Every day, they help students succeed in classrooms across the country. At the same time, millions of Nigerians living abroad want their children to remain connected to quality education, Nigerian curricula, local languages, and the culture they grew up with.
Yet these two groups often struggle to find each other.

Parents search across social media, ask friends for recommendations, or rely on word of mouth. Teachers, on the other hand, spend time posting in different groups, hoping the right parent will eventually notice them.
I couldn't stop thinking about that gap.

As someone who enjoys building technology that solves real problems, I started asking myself what it would look like if there were a trusted place where Nigerian teachers could showcase their skills professionally and where diaspora families could confidently discover educators who matched their children's needs.
That simple question became the beginning of ClassDiaspora.

Building a startup is rarely a straight path. There have been moments of excitement, moments of uncertainty, and many late nights spent improving features, fixing bugs, and learning new things. Like many founders, I've had to balance ambition with limited resources. Progress hasn't always been fast, but it has always been intentional.
One thing that has kept me going is the belief that meaningful solutions are built one step at a time.

Today, ClassDiaspora continues to grow. Teachers are creating public profiles, families can discover educators more easily, and I'm constantly working to improve the platform's visibility so that the right people can find it, whether through search engines or AI-powered search tools.
This journey isn't just about building software. It's about creating opportunities.
It's about helping talented teachers expand their reach beyond geographical boundaries.
It's about giving diaspora families more choices when it comes to quality education and staying connected to home.
Most importantly, it's about proving that technology can create meaningful connections between people who may never have found each other otherwise.
